Hard drives sales under pressure

Dutch online firm buys Italian web printer

Netherlands-based Vistaprint NV, an online provider of marketing products and services to micro businesses and the home, today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Pixartprinting Srl for a base purchase price of approximately €127 million, resulting in Vistaprint ownership of 97% of Pixartprinting, and 3% retained ownership by Pixartprinting’s founder.

Ex-SAP-er joins UNIT4

UNIT4 Business Software, the UK subsidiary of UNIT4, has appointed Helen Sutton as its new UK Commercial Sales Director. Sutton joins from SAP where she was responsible for UK and Ireland partnerships and she was also a member of the SAP UK and Ireland Extended Leadership Team, it says.

Capita buys UK network services specialist

Capita plc, BPO and integrated support service solutions specialist, has announced its acquisition of Updata Infrastructure, a UK-based IT network services provider, for a cash consideration of £80m (€96.4m).

Xyratex move raises channel questions

Seagate's $294m purchase of UK-based hard drive equipment/storage subsystem maker Xyratex could mean channel conflict. Announced on Dec. 23, the confirmation means Xyratex's third-party hard drive equipment clients are likely to start looking elsewhere.
