CybSafe hires new channels head

UK-based cyber security awareness vendor CybSafe has appointed a new channels head to sign up new partners and help get the best out of existing ones. The company has appointed Mark Edge as its chief revenue officer.

He will be responsible for all customer-facing functions, including sales, marketing and customer success. The appointment comes after the firm secured a £3.5m funding round, that is being used to further develop its platform.

CybSafe claims hundreds of customers, including Lloyds Banking Group, Credit Suisse, the Premier League, Just Eat and John Lewis & Partners.

Edge has held previous security software executive roles in the US and EMEA, at firms including IBM, Citrix, A10 Networks, WatchDox and Brainloop.

His focus will be primarily concentrated around growing the team and developing channel partnerships to build the business in the UK and Ireland, while leveraging partnerships to drive business globally, said the vendor. “This will include recruiting new partners and delivering further value for existing partners such as Cloud Distribution, QA, SCOPE, Caretower and Intuition,” CybSafe said.

Oz Alashe, CEO of CybSafe, said: “Attracting someone of Mark’s calibre into the business is a great endorsement of CybSafe’s product. He brings with him incredibly strong knowledge and experience in the channel, which will be vital as we continue our ambitious plans to grow and develop partners.”

He added: “Considering the rising threat of cybercrime and the challenges of data and security compliance, the human element of cyber security is now a priority for businesses worldwide. CybSafe is well-positioned to capitalise on the current market demand for a measurable, science-based training and awareness solution.”

Edge said: “We have a truly intelligent cyber security awareness, behaviour and culture solution that demonstrably reduces human cyber risk. My mission is to realise CybSafe’s full potential and to accelerate our growth in the channel.”
