Notion, the connected AI workspace which already has over 100m users worldwide, has deepened its presence across EMEA, with three new office openings, new regional leadership, and the launch of EU data residency for enterprise customers.
Notion’s EMEA expansion is underpinned by the opening of new “hub” offices in London, Paris, and Munich, to invest in European talent and work more closely with local customers, said the firm.
These locations will host the first hires in each country, focused initially on customer-facing roles.
Since launching its regional EMEA headquarters in Dublin in 2021, that site has grown to more than 100 people. Headcount has doubled across the EMEA region in the last year, with plans to continue growth into 2026.
To lead the growing team, Mick Hodgins has been appointed general manager for EMEA. He was previously managing director, EMEA Ads at Google, where he built and scaled teams working with customers in more than 20 countries.
At Notion, he will spearhead the company’s expansion and go-to-market strategy across EMEA markets. Based in Dublin, he will accelerate growth across customer segments, build Notion’s regional footprint with new teams and offices, and strengthen relationships with local customers and partners.
And to better serve its European customers, Notion is launching a data residency strategy with a new data region in Frankfurt, Germany. This data centre region, offered in partnership with Amazon Web Services, allows workspace owners on Notion’s Enterprise plan the choice to store their data at rest in either the US or the EU.
Previously, Notion customers’ workspace data was hosted solely in the US. “While Notion complies with GDPR and other privacy-related regulations, data residency offers more options for its European customers to meet compliance and security requirements, while maintaining all the collaborative features teams depend on,” said the provider.
“As organisations across EMEA navigate AI, we have an opportunity to transform how they work with beautiful, flexible tools that elevate human craft,” said Mick Hodgins, incoming general manager for EMEA. Notion now has tens of millions of users in EMEA, from students to CEOs, from high-growth startups to established enterprises. This diverse and innovative ecosystem shows that the future of work is at our fingertips.
“We’re now getting even closer to our customers and partners in London, Paris, and Munich. These offices, along with our data residency launch, demonstrate our ongoing commitment to EMEA.”
Erica Anderson, chief revenue officer of Notion, added: "EMEA continues to be an important region for Notion as we invest in international markets. With his extensive experience and builder mindset, Mick’s the ideal leader to scale our team and support our growing customer base across the region.”
