Esprinet acquires sustainability specialist Vamat for €18m

Italy-headquartered distributor Esprinet is acquiring Dutch firm Vamat and its Ireland subsidiary for around €18m.

Vamat, founded in 2015, distributes photovoltaic technologies in the Benelux region, and is also a valued-added partner of Huawei, said Esprinet. The Vamat business in Ireland, founded in 2024, is active in the same business areas.

In the 2024 financial year, Vamat reported consolidated revenues of €46.5m, and EBITDA of €2.7m.

Within the Esprinet Group, Vamat will be maintained as a separate legal entity, and its current general manager, Sander Binnema, will take on the role of chief executive officer in order to ensure business continuity. It will retain its headquarters and 18 current employees.

“The acquisition represents a highly strategic step for Esprinet Group, enabling us to further strengthen our presence in a crucial sector, in technologies supporting the energy and digital transition. With this transaction, we are not only entering two dynamic markets, in Benelux and Ireland, but also reaffirming the group’s determination to grow internationally by following a sustainable, long-term development strategy,” said Alessandro Cattani, chief executive officer of the Esprinet Group.
