Asset specialist sold to Baltic telco

Stays as independent unit; will provide services from planning to disposal

Baltic telecom buys Estonian IT asset management specialist

Eesti Telekom, one of the largest telco companies in the Baltics and a member of TeliaSonera group, has bought an Estonian IT asset management services specialist Green IT.

The transaction is a subject to the Estonian Competition Authority and the financial details have not been revealed. However, following the acquisition, Green IT will continue to operate under its own brand and as a separate unit, it says.

“We want to make consumers’ daily life as simple as possible so that they could focus on their business and would not have to worry about issues related to IT. Green IT is very good at providing services related to IT asset management, and thus we now have a larger team that can fulfil our customers’ wishes even better,” says Tarmo Karsna, Head of B2B Segment and Member of the Board at Esti Telekom.

The company was established in 2006 and operates in the Baltic States. It offers IT asset management services as a synergic combination of IT hardware, software and services to around 150 customers with a total value of devices over €10m both from private and public sectors. The solutions are aimed to deliver the entire life cycle of the IT device, from planning of purchase to disposal of the used device, it says.

“Eesti Telekom has been our strong competitor for a long time. As IT market becomes more service-focused, it is important to constantly invest in service development and increase company revenue. In this view, consolidation is a natural process,” adds Margo Luberg. CEO at Green IT.
