UK-based data networking solutions provider Brand-Rexis opening a new European R&D Laboratory as part of its technology investment programme.

The new facility will offer a range of capabilities such as electrical and radio frequency performance analysis, PCB design simulation, advanced simulation modelling and testing, materials development and testing, fire performance testing, mechanical, physical and reliability testing, carbon footprint and sustainability assessments, and complex optical performance analysis.

The company says that in order to be a leader in the data networking industry, it needs continuously to develop its expertise, especially with the arrival of new technologies.

The new laboratory will also house design and test engineering teams. Thanks to its multi-port optical test platforms it will offer the precision measurement tools for key network characteristics such as attenuation, return loss and insertion loss to exceed the stringent performance demands of 40G, 100G networks and beyond, it says.

“Brand-Rex boasts a string of technology leads; from the space saving Category 6A Data Centre Zone cable to 1/10/40/100 Gb/s upgradable fibre patch panels. It’s the vision and expertise of our technology teams that keeps us at the forefront of the data networking industry. The opening of the new Research & Development laboratory will ensure the team continue to access the very best facilities and equipment as they drive to lead the industry and challenge convention,” says CEO Martin Hanchard.

The new R&D laboratory will be led by Kennedy Miller.
