Logicalis buys majority stake in German Wi-Fi specialist

Aimed at commercial, public and education sectors.

Logicalis has acquired a 51% stake at ITUMA, a Germany-based specialist in Wi-Fi services. The two companies want to take the ‘Wi-Fi experience as a service’ portfolio to clients across the commercial, public and education sectors.

ITUMA is a private company with a focus on services such as navigation, product information, locations and omni-channel retail ordering where all the services use the existing Wi-Fi infrastructure. The company’s offering will be now distributed to the market through Logicalis’ global sales infrastructure. Also, the Wi-Fi portfolio is expected to drive associated infrastructure equipment and managed services revenues, the firm says.

“ITUMA’s development strategy perfectly complements the Logicalis Cisco Gold Partner relationship, and we intend to leverage this footprint with Cisco across all our operating countries,” says Logicalis Group’s President and COO Mark Rogers.

“This partnership allows a proven and successful service offering to achieve significant market penetration through Logicalis’ international presence and their wealth of experience in IT solutions and managed services. I am extremely pleased that ITUMA is now connected to one of the most innovative companies in the enterprise mobility space, and excited about the opportunity of taking the ITUMA story to Logicalis’ companies and customers around the world at a time when mobile experiences are becoming critical to so many industry sectors,” comments Simon Marg ITUMA’s CEO.
