Chinese telco solutions provider ZTE has announced it sees new business opportunities in France and hopes to increase cooperation with the French firms, in particular in the area of 5G research, Internet of Things as well as in cloud computing and big data technologies, says ZTE’s CEO Shi Lirong after a China-France business summit, held in Toulouse last week.
The key areas for deeper collaboration also include new energy solutions. “ZTE values opportunities to work with our partners in France to accelerate the digitalisation of industries and the development of smarter technologies and applications for consumers and businesses,” says Lirong.
Thanks to the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, ZTE has a chance to work with French partners and operators on standardisation and research of technologies such as 5G. Among the other identified by ZTE opportunities for increased partnership in France is the development of cloud computing and big data technologies designed to help organisations optimise their operations through technologies like the Internet of Vehicles and Smart City.
ZTE offers its own solutions for Smart City that provide assistance for the transportation, healthcare and educational sectors, it says.
“ZTE’s M-ICT strategy focuses on innovations in leading-edge network and enterprise computing technologies to drive increased productivity and efficiencies for customers, making our company closely aligned with ongoing efforts in France to promote integration of ICT technologies with traditional industries,” adds Lirong.
He has also identified that technologies dedicated to aerospace, automobile, rail transportation and nuclear energy will be the future key growth areas in France.
“And the government’s ‘New Industrial France’ programme will be a catalyst for new growth. ZTE looks forward to working with our partners in France to drive valuable and transformative innovations,” he concludes.
The China-France Business Summit in Toulouse was attended by premiers and other top industry and government leaders from both countries.
