Veeam Software is expanding its AI data management offer with the acquisition of data security posture management (DSPM) firm Securiti AI, for $1.725 billion.
Veeam and Securiti AI say they will now help customers understand their full data estate, while providing security, along with recovery and rollback, to “unleash the value of their data for AI”. CIOs, CISOs, and CDOs are being promised a single control plane across production and secondary data to do it.
The combination of tech, say the firms, will help reduce the number of AI projects and deployments that fail through the lack of safe and accurate data.
“It’s no longer about just protecting data from cyber threats and unforeseen disasters, it’s also about identifying all your data, ensuring it’s governed and trusted to power AI transparently,” said Anand Eswaran (pictured), CEO of Veeam. “Our single solution will help customers understand, secure, recover, and rollback their data, and unleash it to drive new business value.”
“Securiti AI enables the safe use of data and AI,” added Rehan Jalil, CEO at Securiti AI. “One data command centre will now deliver data resilience, DSPM, privacy, governance, and AI trust for your entire data estate.”
Powered by a knowledge graph, Securiti AI’s Data Command Center unifies data intelligence and security controls for data across hybrid multi-clouds. Its built-in and extensible agentic AI framework automates the key functions for data intelligence, data security, and controls, while its Gencore AI module enables safe enterprise AI search.
Following the close of the transaction this quarter, Rehan Jalil will join Veeam as president of security and AI.
Veeam will continue to offer Securiti AI’s Data Command Center alongside its existing product family through its large channel, and will announce new integrated capabilities “very soon”, it said.
Last week, Veeam took the wraps off Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) for Managed Service Providers, through the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) programme.
Designed to empower third-party service providers, Veeam Data Cloud delivers data protection and resilience through a secure, scalable SaaS platform for MSP clients across diverse environments.
