Sanderson Group continues recovery

Software and IT services firm Sanderson Group has reported a strong first half, building momentum in the retail and manufacturing sectors it specialises in.

The company saw 16% revenue growth to £17m in the six months to 31 March 2019, generating an operating profit up 33% to £2.8m, according to a pre-close trading update.

The company experienced a tough 2017, before achieving an improved 2018, and the first part of 2019 is "ahead of management expectations". Again, the Digital Retail division was a growth driver with double digit revenue and operating profit growth. The division is said to have benefited from increased sales and marketing investment.

The Enterprise division also made “good progress”. The manufacturing unit saw sales rise 10%, with the food and drink processing sector performing particularly well. The supply chain logistics business, which was strengthened by the Anisa acquisition in November 2017, is also said to have started the year well and is expected to continue that way.

Further details of the company's progress will be laid out when the full results for H1 are released on 15 May.
