Portugal Telecom and Altran team up for cloud

Portugal Telecom and telecoms consultant Altran Portugal have announced a new partnership aimed at combined cloud and date services across Europe.

Portugal Telecom and telecoms consultant Altran Portugal have announced a new partnership aimed at combined cloud and date services across Europe.

With Portugal Telecom’s strategy based on mainstreaming of infrastructure and services management through the cloud and international data centres, the new partnership will provide European customers with a chance to use its network and datacentres wherever they are based.

In exchange, Portugal Telecom will capitalise on a growing network of partners and expand its international presence across four continents, it says.

“This agreement with Altran formalises an important partnership, which will ensure competitiveness on a world scale, in terms of addressing different markets with information and communication technologies, throughout a global reach network of data centres. We are proud to internationally grow alongside Altran,” says Miguel Moreira, CEO of PT’s Cloud Unit.

Altran Portugal, which operates through nearshore service centre for telecommunications engineering, currently hires over 500 people and delivers services to financial, telco and media, public administration and utility sectors in Portugal.
