Jobs Board 6 October: Big channel players make key hires

MSP tech provider inforcer has named Jason Ulacio as senior vice president of business development, to help expand the company’s presence across the global MSP ecosystem.

Prior to joining inforcer, he spent nine years working within business development at Microsoft, as senior business development manager for Microsoft Security. He played a pivotal role in driving Intune and SMB security adoption through product and go-to-market partnerships.

Ulacio said: “Having been deeply involved in the expansion of Microsoft’s SMB security business, I’ve realised that Microsoft’s success in the SMB space is driven by partners, especially MSPs. However, MSPs face real challenges with no native multi-tenancy and a multitude of settings and configurations that are not optimised for MSP operations.

“inforcer solves these issues with precision and empathy for the MSP experience. When I discovered inforcer a year ago, it felt like it had been on the same journey as Microsoft by solving similar problems. I was genuinely inspired by its product, team, and vision. Joining inforcer felt like a natural continuation of my mission in helping MSPs succeed with Microsoft.”

inforcer CEO and co-founder Jamie Daum, added: “Jason’s experience at Microsoft is especially valuable, as we’ve recently become a Microsoft partner in enabling #IntuneForMSPs, helping MSPs unlock the full value of Microsoft 365 and AI-powered services. His background means he is best equipped to understand our capabilities in supporting MSPs in integrating Microsoft tools.”

-Kirsty Lawrence has been appointed the new CFO at Tampnet, the global player in offshore connectivity, based at the company’s Aberdeen, Scotland office.

She joined Tampnet in 2021 as finance business partner and was promoted to head of group business control in 2023. Prior to Tampnet, she worked at Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, specialising in corporate finance.

Tampnet owns and operates an offshore high-capacity communications network, serving more than 450 fixed and mobile energy assets. The company has an extensive fibre network (5,400 km and counting), and runs a private 4G/5G network (600,000 km2 mobile LTE coverage) more than 2x the size of UK, and satellite solutions.

-Phoenix Software recently promoted Craig Taylor to the role of chief technology officer. He replaces outgoing CTO Darren Goldsborough, who retired after 25 years at the York, England-based tech services firm.

Taylor is a decade-long veteran at Phoenix Software. Prior to his promotion, he was director of cloud solutions for over five years.

As chief technology officer he will lead the strategic direction of the company’s technology vision, ensuring that innovation is embedded in the company’s solutions, and aligned with the evolving needs of its customers, said the firm.

-Cornerstone OnDemand, a player in workforce agility solutions, has expanded its leadership with Guna Jayaraman as its chief AI officer, and Himanshu Baxi as its chief development officer.

“These two new roles make way for Cornerstone to continue creating people solutions that help organisations overcome skills shortages, AI adoption challenges, and unlock human potential for today’s evolving marketplace,” said Cornerstone.

Jayaraman brings more than 20 years’ experience at leading technology organisations, including 13 years at Amazon where he most recently served as vice president of software development for People Technologies. He has led large-scale distributed systems, global retail and customer service platforms, and end-to-end enterprise AI initiatives.

“Organisations today cannot afford to experiment at the edges,” said Jayaraman. “Workforce architecture needs to continuously evolve and bind human capability with AI. Cornerstone’s deep roots in learning, combined with its skills-first DNA, create the perfect foundation. I am keen to help enterprises operationalise AI at scale securely, responsibly, and with measurable impact.”

Chief development officer Baxi previously served as an adviser to the firm. With more than 30 years of leadership experience, including leading Amazon Search’s customer facing experience, and senior roles at Intuit and Microsoft, Baxi has consistently scaled enterprise platforms to millions of global users.

-DeepL has named Gonçalo Gaiolas as chief product officer. In his previous role as chief product and technology officer at SoSafe, Gaiolas helped double revenue and scale the company globally, driving collaboration across teams to deliver large-scale impact.

With a strong background in product development, cross-functional leadership, and transformative innovation, Gaiolas will focus on continuing to advance Deepl’s powerful Language AI solutions for enterprises while also guiding the company's expansion into the agentic AI market.

DeepL recently launched its marketplace, a one-stop hub for ready-made apps and integrations that make its AI translation and writing APIs faster and easier for businesses to adopt. It also launched its DeepL Agent to beta, an autonomous AI tool that automates enterprise workflows across finance, sales, marketing, support, and other areas.
