HPE global channels head to be replaced

HPE is looking for a new global channels head after incumbent and Brit Paul Hunter was appointed as managing director for HPE North America.

Hunter brings more than 25 years of experience to his role after starting at HP UK, including his most recent role leading HPE's worldwide channels and ecosystem.

Heiko Meyer, HPE chief sales officer, said of the appointment, “With more than 25 years of experience at the company, Paul has consistently demonstrated a keen awareness of customer needs, effective leadership skills and the drive to push for better. “Most recently, he served as the worldwide head of partner sales, embracing our value of 'partner first', exemplifying our culture and helping our partners see the opportunity in our edge-to-cloud strategy.”

Meyer said Hunter had been “instrumental” in accelerating HPE's pivot to becoming a platform-as-a-service company. “With more than 700 partners now selling HPE GreenLake he has shown strong leadership and brought a fresh perspective to the organisation. His experience in moving partners from a transactional to a more strategic business outcome model is our future,” Meyer said.

Hunter said: “Thank you to all the partners that have been a huge part of our progress in the past years. The relationships that we have enjoyed, the personal support I have received and the experiences shared.”

His's appointment follows previous North America head Dan Belanger’s decision to leave HPE after over 30 years at the company.
