Blockchain as a service revealed at London MSP event

Blockchain is starting to make its importance felt in managed services, with Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) becoming another tool in the MSP’s portfolio.  In a keynote presentation entitled “The Message Behind Blockchain - from Threat to Tool” Igor Pejic (pictured), author of Blockchain Babel (2019) will show the Managed Services Summit in London on September 18 that the data giants (Google, Amazon, IBM etc) should be taken seriously in the blockchain race.

Looking at the various technology options that customers may be asking about – Cryptocurrencies vs Blockchain vs. Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) – he will point to growth areas. Industries such as financial services, IoT, supply chain and trade supply, energy, government, insurance, healthcare, cloud storage, data security, legal, identity management which will be the main areas of interest, he says.

One commentator has said that “90% of finance executives think that blockchain/DLT will have a positive effect on the payments industry”. But it is important to understand the potential benefits for the customers and the road to full blockchain utilization, with Blockchain-as-a-Service (BaaS) payments as a strategic priority, he says.

Attendees at the Managed Services & Hosting Summit, 18 September in London will hear directly from Igor Pejic and will also receive a free copy of his book Blockchain Babel, which was selected as the book of the month earlier this year by the FT.
