Ingram Micro aims to score in virtualisation push
Value-added distributor Ingram Micro and virtualisation solutions provider VMware have launched a new initiative for SMBs, the VIRTUALIZER 2012 programme.
The new programme, which aims to bring together specialist dealers, has been created to support sales activity across the SMB sector and to facilitate the entry into virtualisation for the resellers. It is all about coaching the new partners how to best fit for the sale of VMware products, it says.
Following this, the resellers will have a chance to participate in the intensive trainings which then will allow them to become a qualified VMware Professional Partner within three days.
“Medium-sized companies now make up completely new demands on their IT infrastructure. Flexibility and efficiency are important here in order to continue to grow and remain competitive. A key to the search for the right approach is virtualization," explains Uwe Kannegießer, Director of Value Added Business, Ingram Micro Distribution.
Both Ingram Micro and VMware want to add a little bit of sportsmanship to the game so they have decide they that the meetings with the participants of this new programme will be held in Germany’s football stadiums . On top of that, VIRTUALIZER’s participants will be then rewarded the points. And at the end of the year, the winner on points can forward it to a trip to the exclusive VMware Partner Exchange event in Las Vegas.
