More jobs in Ireland

US-based specialist in enterprise cloud applications for HR and finance sector Workday has announced its expansion plans that would see 200 new jobs in Ireland over the next three years.

US-based specialist in enterprise cloud applications for HR and finance sector Workday has announced its expansion plans that would see 200 new jobs in Ireland over the next three years.

The present expansion follows a prior commitment the company first made in 2012 according to which Workday would add 100 new positions. However, more than 100 vacancies have been already filled thanks to a strong growth in Europe, it says.

The move is a part of Irish investment mission led by Ireland’s inward investment promotion agency IDA Ireland and supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

At the moment, the company hires globally 2,900 people with 350 being based in Europe. This means that Workday plans to expand its European presence by doubling its team.

Workday first came to Ireland in 2008 and established its headquarters in Dublin. The Irish hub delivers customer support, services and serves as product and technology development centre as well as provides data centre operations.

“Workday is leading innovation in cloud computing. Workday’s decision to significantly increase its workforce in Ireland greatly enhances our reputation as a location for cloud computing which is a strategic focus for IDA Ireland,” says Barry O’Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland.
