Computer Gross buys rival distributor
Italian distributor Computer Gross has taken a 51% stake in fellow Italian distributor Icos, with plans to buy the rest of the company by 2020. Icos specialises in solutions from Oracle, NetApp, Huawei and Commvault. Computer Gross, owned by the Sesa group, has paid out €2.3m for its initial stake, and the rest of the company is available to buy in two tranches for a total of €2.2m by April 2020. Icos founders Riccardo Maiarelli and Francesca Natali are staying on as executive directors at the firm.
Computer Gross is headquartered in Florence and Icos has sites in Ferrara, Milan and Rome.
Sesa CEO Alessandro Fabbroni says the group intends adding to its stable further. “We continue to evaluate acquisitions”, said Fabbroni. Computer Gross acquired a stake in Italian Apple distributor Attiva this February. Sesa reseller business VAR Group recently took a majority stake in Italian consulting firm Globo Informatica.
