Capgemini wins German federal deal

Capgemini Deutschland GmbH has won three framework agreements with the Data Processing and Information Technology Center (ZIVIT), the internal IT service provider for the Federal Revenue Administration and other federal authorities in Germany. The framework agreements are multi-year deals with a volume of up to 4,840 man-months.

Each framework agreement is concluded for a period of three years. They cover services of architecture consulting, Java and Oracle-based technology software development and Business Intelligence technology software development.

This is the first time that ZIVIT has awarded its architecture consulting to an external service provider. With a scale of approximately 140 man-months, the agreement includes both the design of modern application architectures that support the IT strategy and the management of the IT enterprise architecture.

The two software development contracts consist of a total of up to 4,700 man-months and supersede the previous two contracts signed in 2009 by Capgemini Germany. These contracts give ZIVIT significant support in the development and maintenance of customers’ administrative processes.

Capgemini has been a service provider to ZIVIT since the end of 2009.
"In Capgemini we have a reliable partner at our side who places a high priority on us as a customer," says Gert Burkhart, Head of Unit II 3 Tax Procedures in ZIVIT.

Through a number of different framework contracts Capgemini is a partner to ZIVIT in the design and implementation of tax procedures, in customs duty applications and research systems, and in business intelligence solutions.

Ulrich Bonfig, Head of Client Services for Federal and State Revenue Administrations, Public Sector at Capgemini: “Thanks to the newly awarded contracts we look forward to helping ZIVIT and the Federal Revenue Administration become more efficient in the design of their IT-landscape and in managing current and future challenges."

The Center for Information Processing and Information Technology (Zentrum für Informationsverarbeitung und Informationstechnik, ZIVIT) has supported both the Federal Ministry of Finance and its business and other authorities with a variety of IT services for six years. ZIVIT has offices in Berlin, Bonn, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart. Up to 1.400 employees, including 510 in software development and 520 in IT operations and IT services, oversee about 250 specialized procedures and maintain approximately 3,000 servers.
