Optenet and COMPUTERLINKS sign distribution deal
SaaS security specialist Optenet has entered into a distribution deal with UK-based distributor COMPUTERLINKS to deliver a worldwide channel programme.
As part of the agreement, COMPUTERLINKS will offer Optenet's security solutions to its channel partners and enterprise customers in 11 European countries including Germany, France and the UK. The others are Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland and Hungary.
Optenet's has solutions including web filtering, anti-spam, anti-virus, email and web security as a fully integrated suite of high-performance security services designed to protect against the latest Web 2.0 threats. The deal includes Optenet's Hybrid Delivery Model which will allow an easier transition to SaaS, with support provided for policy security enforcement and management either "in-the-cloud" or "on-site".
"COMPUTERLINKS and the two or three tiered channel which we have already begun, is an important step for us," says Omar Aguirre, general managing director of Optenet. "It's a way we can scale and of course COMPUTERLINKS in Europe is important. They have presence in various countries while we have some too. Its good to have such a partner."
"As we are experienced in the ISP world, we know how to deploy in the cloud solutions," adds Aguirre, of the role of SaaS. "We are based in a service model. The box we are using through COMPUTERLINKS will have some services through the cloud. We are enabling the channel to have stronger possibilities."
